1.KCB Rugby club. It is arguably the richest club in Kenya. They possess their own team bus that ferries players from one stadium to another. The club has of late won very many Kenya cups and other competitions hence boosting their income. The club also has branches and feeder teams across the country.

2.Kenya Harlequins. The club has risen to glory since 2011 having won the Kenya cup twice in a row. It was founded in 1923 and gained affiliation with the London Harlequins. The club has a lot of revenue collection hence it’s among the richest in the country. Having been sponsored by Sport Pesa earlier on, the club has the best training allowance scheme for its players.

Here, all players have a medical cover and for every win, the players receive 3,500shs allowance. The players receive between 16,000 to 25,000 per month each.

6.Menengai Cream Homeboyz. The club is fast rising and pays its players per match and training allowances are given. It is sponsored by the Menengai company.

7. Mean Machine RFC. The club was founded in 1977 and represents the renown University of Nairobi.

The university has invested highly in the players scholarships and the club has some state of the art facilities. The club doesn’t pay any allowances to students but gives free scholarships.

9.Nondescripts RFC. It is probably one of the oldest clubs in the country having been formed in 1923 alongside Kenya Harlequins. This club is indeed rich as it has won more tournaments in Kenya than any other rugby club.

10.Mwamba RFC. Mwamba was founded in 1978 and has soon become a popular team to Kenyans. The club is very instrumental to the growth of the game in Kenya as most of its key players have featured in the national team.
