• According to Martin Kinoti, secretary general Association of Kenya Feed Manufacturers [AKEFEMA] said the cost of animal feeds has gone up by Sh300 to Sh400 per 70 kg in the last two weeks.
• Kinoti said this is mainly driven by the rising cost of maize, which is a main raw material for feed production, and has shot to Sh4,200 per 90 kg bag from less than Sh3,000 in the same period last year.
The price of animal feeds has increased by Sh400 in a span of one month, the feed manufacturer association has said.
