61ST GRADUATION CEREMONY – FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 6, 2019
The University of Nairobi wishes to inform all students from the above colleges who qualified for the award of various degrees and diplomas at the end of last academic year (2018/2019) and members of the public, that the 61st Graduation Ceremony will be held on Friday, September 6, 2019 commencing at 8.00 a.m. at the Chancellor’s Court next to Central Catering Unit, Main Campus. The following is pertinent information:
CLEARANCE OF FEES AND ORDER OF NAMES:
Only those who will have completed paying the fees due to the University by Tuesday August 6, 2019 will be allowed to graduate. ALLgraduands are advised to confirm the order of their names with their respective Deans/Directors.
GRADUATION/CONVOCATION FEE
Each graduand will be required to obtain a clearance certificate from the relevant College Registrar upon clearance with the respective Department/Faculty/Institute/School, Library, Halls of Residence, Games Department, Finance and pay a compulsory Graduation/Convocation fee of Kshs. 1,000/=.
HIRE OR PURCHASE OF ACADEMIC ATTIRE
The academic attire will be available for hire between Monday, August 26, 2019 to Thursday, September 5, 2019 from the respective College Registrars for Diploma, Bachelors, PGD and Masters graduands and from the Deputy Registrar, Central Examinations Centre for PhD graduands at a non-refundable fee of Kshs. 4,000/= per set. Those intending to purchase the academic attire should contact the Deputy Registrar, Central Examinations Centre, Chiromo Campus for details. The hired academic attire must be returned to the respective offices byFriday, September 20, 2019 to avoid being surcharged.
REHEARSAL
The rehearsal is an integral part of the Graduation Ceremony. All Graduands intending to participate in the ceremony must attend the rehearsal on Thursday, September 5, 2019 at 10.00 a.m. at the Chancellor’s Court next to the Central Catering Unit, Main Campus.
INVITATION
- While hiring or purchasing the Academic Dress, each graduand will be issued with two invitation cards for two guests. Persons without invitation cards will not be allowed into the Chancellor’s Court on the Graduation Day.
Children are not allowed.

PUNCTUALITY
Graduands and invited guests are advised to arrive early on the Graduation day and be seated by 7.00 a.m.
