BACKGROUND
Tom Mboya Labour College (TMLC) is an institution owned by the Central Organization of Trade Unions – Kenya (COTU (K). The College is devoted to meeting the education and training needs of trade union leaders and members at large. In the recent past, the College has initiated training in Human Resource Management and other Business Leadership Programs and Courses.Besides the education aspect, Tom Mboya Labour College (TMLC) is a leading Service provider in the Conference and Hospitality sector.In order to fulfill this mandate the College therefore seeks to fill the following vacancies.
1) ACCOUNTANT – 1 Post
Key Responsibilities
Manage, update and review subsidiary ledgers and reconciling them to the general ledger;Ensure supplier and customer accounts are reconciled on monthly basis;Ensure proper Management of cash through implementation of controls;Review bank reconciliations on weekly basis;Ensure tax compliance in all operations;Prepare annual statutory accounts and manage statutory audits as well as implement the agreed upon internal audit recommendations;Analyze customer credit data and financial statements to determine the degree of risks involved;Maintain book of debtors, debt accounts and monitor payments and update records and periodically reconcile their accounts;Review individual or commercial customer files to identify and select delinquent accounts for collection and advising Management on creditors that need to be written off as bad debts and or deal with liquidators and collection agencies;Evaluate customer records and recommend payment plans based on earnings, savings data, payment history and purchase activity;Preparation of financial reports.

Education and Experience
Minimum Requirements
Must have a Bachelors degree in any of the following: Accountancy, Commerce, Business Administration or equivalent qualification from a recognized University.Professional accountancy qualifications – CPA 1.Must be a registered member of ICPAKComputer literate with ability to use accounting software such as quick books, MS Excel, among others.Flexible and ready and willing to work under pressure.Sound analytical and IT skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Five years experience in a similar position.The salary attached to this position is competitive and negotiable.If you believe you are the right candidate for this position, please send your application, detailed curriculum vitae with names of three referees and your academic certificates to reach the undersigned by Thursday 24^th September 2015.

Qualifications A minimum of a Masters degree qualification from a recognized/accredited Institution in any of the following fields: Banking, Finance or AccountingAt least three (2) years teaching/ research experience at the University level as a Senior Lecturer in their area of specialization;Evidence of active research involvement and significant contribution to the advancement of knowledge as evidenced by; at least three (3) outstanding publications in peer-reviewed journals or two (2) refereed books in their area of specialization since appointment as a Senior Lecturer.Supervised at least five (5) postgraduate students, demonstrable involvement in post-graduate course development and attraction of research funds as a Senior Lecturer.Been registered by the relevant Professional Body (where applicable).
Computer Literate and conversant with all the computer packages.Exceptional interpersonal skills.Conversant with labour laws.Result oriented and self driven.

c) Marketing Officer – 1

PostDuties and Responsibilities

Generate ideas for new sales and expanding the market scope..Formulate strategies to meet set targets.Compiling and submitting weekly and monthly reports to the board through the Principal.Ensuring that promotion materials are secured and properly displayed.Leading marketing teams to secure contracts for Tom Mboya Labour College.Maintaining positive and productive relationships with existing Tom Mboya Labour College clients

Qualifications University degree with at least 2 years experience in the hospitality industry or in an institutional environment.
