Kirinyaga University is government owned and established under the Universities Act No.42 of 2012. At present, the University runs degree programmes across six faculties; Health Sciences, Hospitality and Textile Technology, Computing and Information Technology, Business and Economics, Pure and Applied Sciences, and Engineering and Built Environment. The University is a chartered University and is among the vibrant and fastest growing citadels of learning in Kenya. It is situated about 115 kilometers from Nairobi. The University invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced persons with excellent academic credentials to fill the following positions;

ACADEMIC POSITIONS SCHOOL OF HEALTH SCIENCES Lecturer Grade 12 – 1 Position (Re-advertisement) KyU/AC/119/01/2019 Area/Field of specialization: Community Health Tutorial Fellow Grade 11 – 3 Positions (Re-advertisement) KyU/AC/120/01/2019 Area/Field of specialization: Clinical Medicine Graduate Assistant Grade 10 – 2 Positions KyU/AC/121/01/2019 Area/Field of specialization: Clinical Medicine NON-ACADEMIC POSITIONS Clinical Instructor Grade 10 (2Positions) KyU/NT/055/01/2019 REQUIREMENTS

1. LECTURER GRADE 12 Applicants shall:  An earned PhD or equivalent degree qualification in the relevant field from an accredited and recognized university; and be registered or registerable with the relevant professional body (where applicable). OR  A Master’s degree in the relevant field from accredited and recognized University (in special cases) with at least three (3) years teaching experience at university level or in research or in industry; and  A minimum of twenty- four (24) publication points, of which at least sixteen (16) should be from refereed journal papers; and  Registered with the relevant professional body (where applicable).

2. TUTORIAL FELLOW GRADE 11 Applicants shall:  Have Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree qualification from accredited and recognized university in the relevant field;  Be registerable for a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)or equivalent Doctoral Degree qualification; and  Be registered or registerable with the relevant professional body (where applicable). 3. GRADUATE ASSISTANT GRADE 10 Applicants shall:  Have at least an Upper Second Class Honours Bachelor’s degree from an accredited and recognized university in the relevant field,  Be expected to register for a relevant Master’s degree; and  Be registered or registerable with the relevant professional body (where applicable) 4. Clinical Instructor GRADE 10 Applicants shall:  Have a Bachelor’s Degree in Clinical Medicine or Community Health.  Have at least three years experience.  Must be registered with the relevant Professional body

Terms and conditions of service  Successful candidates will be offered a competitive remuneration package.  Employment will be on permanent and pensionable terms except for Tutorial Fellows and Graduate Assistant who will be employed on two (2) years contract renewable depending on progress towards achievement of PhD degree and Masters degree respectively.  Those with degrees from foreign universities should attach certificates of equation and recognition of qualifications from Commission for University Education.  Applicants must meet requirements of chapter six of the Kenya Constitution, 2010 Mode of application Applicants must submit eight (8) copies of applications giving details of the educational and professional qualifications, age, detailed work experience, present post and salary, applicant’s telephone number and e-mail address.
